In lieu of a new episode this week, we’re bringing you this bonus episode that up until now was exclusively on SF Deep Cuts.
You may be wondering, “SF Deep Cuts? What makes it exclusive? A paywall?”
Two and a half questions we’d be happy to answer! But first, about this episode:
Originally released this past March, “Marlins Will Soar” comes courtesy of baseball fanatic and producer extraordinaire, Jordan Aaron.
When he’s not producing the heck out of these episodes, Jordan is schooling the heck out of me on baseball history. Out of left-field (too easy) I appear in his Instagram DMs with some out-of-pocket, though entirely relevant question like, “What does ‘our ass is in the jackpot’ mean?” Sure, I could look these things up, but Jordan answers baseball trivia with a passion and humor that can’t be matched by anyone at The New York Times.
And through his passion and humor, we get the real gift of this episode: a tribute to Jordan’s father, Hank Aaron.
I’ll let Jordan tell you the rest himself…
Track — Scott Stapp “Marlins Will Soar” (2010)
